Later to be known as Edge Transportation Services Ltd., Siemens Transportation expanded its service offerings through the development of their flat deck division in 1989. Today, Edge Transportation specializes in flat deck, heavy haul & over-dimensional freight service throughout North America. From full truckload to less-than-truckload needs, experienced operators ensure secure and efficient transport. A fleet guided by satellite tracking ensures delivery of your shipment on time and claims free. In addition, we offer Drayage service which refers to a specialty logistics service that carries freight containers over a short distance, an essential part of intermodal shipping. How does freight get from a rail car to a ship? Additionally, how does a container get from rail to a truck? It happens via drayage. We take containers in and out of warehouses, rail terminals, ocean ports and harbors. This often involves taking huge steal shipping containers off rail cars and ship decks and then loading them onto truck trailers. From there, the container is transported to a warehouse or storage facility to get ready for the next step in the intermodal shipping process. Drayage is part of a larger logistics process. At Edge we recognize that relationships are one of the most important aspects of the industry. Over the years we have displayed an ongoing commitment to provide quality service as well as building long term, value-added relationships with our Employees and Customers. We work closely with our partners to provide customized solutions to meet their needs. Our partnership approach blends uniqueness in how we do business. The excellence of the Company has not gone unnoticed.
